5 Weird And Wonderful Fish Waterfall Climbing Cave Fish

In this 5 weird and wonderful fish video i will be going through 5 weird and wonderful oddball fish from around the world. There are many different species of fish in the worlds freshwater rivers and lakes but only a few weird and wonderful oddball fish are available in the aquarium trade. In this series i look into some of the rare oddball fish from around the world.

Our first fish on the list is the vampire tetra also know as the payara. This predatory fish looks like a real river monster but is often misunderstood. In the wild this rare fish often feeds on piranha but unfortunately it doesn’t do very well in the aquarium.

Our next fish is probably the strangest fish that i have ever featured on these 5 weird and wonderful fish videos as we have the waterfall climbing cave fish. Cave fish are pretty rare in the aquarium trade and the only species that is easy to find is the Mexican tetra. This waterfall climbing cave fish takes the weirdness to the next level though as it is able to climb up cave waterfalls.

The next fish on the list is the rainbow shiner. This is a great cold water fish that is a little easier to find in the aquarium trade and the rainbow shiner doesn’t need a heater either. This species is on my bucket list as its one of the prettiest colourful coldwater fish in the world.

Our next fish is the wasp catfish. This small catfish got it’s name due down to it being able to give you a nasty sting but this isn’t a very dangerous sting but can be very painful. The wasp catfish is very easy to look after in the aquarium and is a great nano fish.

Our last river monster on the list is the black wolffish. The wolffish is both a great predatory fish and it also tends to be a very hardy fish. This rare species is able to breathe atmospheric oxygen and because of its hardiness, its one of the easier river monsters to keep in the aquarium.

What was your favourite fish on this list?
