New Pet Snails!

Meet Radagast, Treebeard, Goldberry, & Tom Bombadil! I was finally able to find more snails at my Grandma’s house on Friday, and I decided to bring home four to keep as pets. Treebeard’s shell was overgrown and brittle, but the brittle part cracked off and now his shell looks completely normal. Still, I’m providing him with lots of calcium and waiting to paint his shell until I’m sure it’s healthy.

Update… last night (June 25th), Tom Bombadil had an accident (since the video was nearly finished, I didn’t include this); he somehow got under the lid and when I lifted it up, he got smashed… I’m really not entirely sure how it happened. His shell is very cracked, and I’m not sure if he’ll make it. I’ve separated him in a different habitat, and I’m providing him with lots of calcium to grow back his shell, but if his organs were damaged, there’s nothing I can do. Please keep him in your prayers. I’ll keep you updated.

EDIT (Monday, June 28th): Sadly, this morning I found out that Tom did pass away… He was injured too badly to make it. Thanks for your thoughts & prayers.

If you are wondering about my motto, read this paragraph in which I will explain. “Animals don’t have voices to tell us how they feel, so we must be their voice… Will you help me?”. The reason for choosing this short sentence to represent my channel is because I feel the need to create awareness for the feelings of animals. Understanding & applying correct pet care to our own lives is good, but we also need to reach out to others so that they understand the need to care for their pets, as well. Animals are living creatures with feelings, needs, & emotions, just like people. Some people fail to realize this. As long as there is animal neglect, abuse, and abandonment in this world, we need to be the animal’s voice and speak out for them… Will you help me?
