Pollen Party! Sharing is caring

Over 80 percent of the world’s flowering plants require a pollinator to reproduce.
Bees, insects and other small animals reap the rewards of pollen and nectar as a food source and in return they transfer pollen from one flower to another – fertilising plants by cross-pollination.
The most common pollinators are bees and butterflies, with bees estimated to pollinate around one third of the world’s food crops.

This sunflower sure demonstrates how tempting a good pollen source is for pollinators of all shapes and sizes – if you have time off this holiday season, why not spend it planning your very own pollinator garden?

Happy Beekeeping!
